  • Vienna is "Smart City"

    According to a study by American climate strategist Boyd Cohen, Vienna is top in the first global "smart city ranking", ahead of cosmopolitan cities such as New York and Hong Kong. On the basis of various indicators such as innovation and sustainability, Cohen established a ranking, the outcome of which surprised even the author, as he previously hadn't associated Vienna with "smart cities".> more

  • ITS Vienna 2012: Paper submission extended

    The paper submission for the 19th World Congress for Intelligent Transport Systems has been extended until 27 January 2012. We invite ITS experts to submit a technical/scientific paper for presentation at ITS Vienna 2012. We also strongly encourage women in ITS to hand in their contributions.> more

  • ITS Action plan has been presented

    As early as 2004, Austria made an important, innovative and trend-setting move with its framework plan to deploy Intelligent Transport Systems. This was followed in 2008 by the EU ITS Action Plan and  in August 2010 by the EU ITS Guideline from the European Commission.> more

    In Orlando, the "Women in ITS" breakfast which gather more than 70 participants from all over the world and the popular Special Interest Session "Women in ITS" have been a big success. Therefore we will continue this event series at the ITS World Congress 2012 in Vienna.> more
