The membership of the 2012 ITS (Intelligent Transport
Systems and Services) Video Competition Expert Committee has been
confirmed. High level ITS figures from the America, Asia Pacific
and Europe have come together to select the three finalists in each
category ahead of the final vote held at the ITS World Congress,
held in Vienna, 22-26 October 2012.
Hermann Meyer, CEO, ERTICO - ITS Europe, said on behalf of his
colleagues from the 2012 ITS Video Competition Expert Committee,
"We are all most excited about the 2012 ITS Video Competition in
recognition of the potential of the medium in driving forward the
deployment of ITS, and thus contributing to safer, cleaner and more
efficient travel. ITS offers real solutions now to today's travel
challenges - we should use every medium and opportunity to reflect
this".
The 2012 ITS Video Competition encourages the effective use of
videos to reach out to citizens and policy makers showing the
potential and need of ITS to create a better future with less
accidents, fewer fatalities and injured people, less congestion,
cleaner and more comfortable mobility.
The 2012 ITS Video Competition Expert Committee will judge the ITS
videos submitted by companies, universities, public authorities and
other organisation in the two categories - videos directed at the
general public and videos directed at the ITS community - in order
to produce three finalists in each category. The finalists will be
shown during the VIP dinner at the ITS World Congress, and the VIPs
will vote for the winners.
Submissions remain open until Friday 7 September end of day.

ERTICO - ITS Europe
About the ITS World Congress
To share knowledge and experience within the ITS community is seen
as a must in the development and implementation of ITS
technologies. In that regard, European and World Congresses provide
the ideal opportunity for all players of the ITS world to come
together and make the necessary contacts to help move initiatives
forward. Over the years, they have also received the highest
support throughout the ITS world from government, industry and
other organisations.
ERTICO - ITS Europe, ITS America and ITS Asia-Pacific work together
closely in the preparation of the annual ITS World Congress and
Exhibition attracting over 8000 people. Each year the event takes
place in a different region, and it is held in Europe every third
year. Valuable support is also provided by the host region,
including by the national ITS association of the country. European
ITS Congresses that bring together over 1500 people are organised
by ERTICO - ITS Europe in years when there is not an ITS World
Congress in Europe. In 2012, the World ITS Congress will take place
in Vienna, Austria from 22 to 26 October.
About ERTICO - ITS Europe
ERTICO - ITS Europe is a multi-sector, public/private partnership
pursuing the development and deployment of Intelligent Transport
Systems and Services (ITS). We connect public authorities, industry
players, infrastructure operators, users, national ITS associations
and other organisations together and work to bring "Intelligence
into Mobility".
The ERTICO work programme focuses on initiatives to improve road
safety, security and network efficiency whilst taking into account
measures to reduce environmental impact. Our vision is of a future
transport system working towards zero accidents, zero delays and
fully informed people, where services are affordable and seamless,
the environment is protected, privacy is respected and security is
provided.
