On behalf of bmvit and accompanied by AustriaTech, the Austrian
Road Safety Board organised four ITS workshops for pupils. The
workshops were divided in three modules and started with an
introduction to the topic ITS. The focus of the second day was to
experience Intelligent Transport Systems in real life. On the third
day pupils got information about different possibilities of
studying and working in the field of ITS. During those three days
the students learned what Intelligent Transport Systems are, where
they can meet them and how they affect their mobility. Together
with experts the pupils developed and reflected their vision of
mobility in 2050. The practical exercises ranged from velocity
measurement, software development to route planning and transport
information using the app of Wiener Linien "Quando".
On the Public Day of the ITS World Congress on 25 October 2012 the
students will present their results to the visitors.
