Pleasant results of "ITS Scientific Award"

Prior to the ITS World Congress taking place in Vienna from 22 to 26 October 2012 the Austrian Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology tendered the "ITS Scientific Award". Until 30 June 2012 students were asked to submit their thesis or dissertation on various ITS-related topics. Eight dissertations and 16 master theses were submitted by students from the Universities of Technology in Vienna and Graz, from the Universities in Salzburg and Linz, as well as from the Vienna-based University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences and the UAS Technikum Wien. But also from beyond the boarders of Austria submissions were made, like from the Universities of Technology in Munich and Brunswick, the University of Kassel and the Czech Technical University in Prag.
The variety of topics is truly remarkable, reaching from controlling and manipulating individual transport to inland navigation logistics and rail transport. Fortunately also five female students took the opportunity to participate in this call. An exalted international expert jury will review the papers.  The award presentation will take place within the framework of the congresses' public day on 25 October 2012. The prizes will be presented by Minister Doris Bures.
