The Regional Council of Pays de la Loire (Nantes Region, France) implemented a web-based journey planner in 2006: www.destineo.fr. It provides information on multi-modal journeys by public transport (i.e. bus, coach, tramway, train and boat shuttles), aeroplane and walking. 18 local authorities are partners of Destineo. By taking part in the EU funded INTERREG IVB Improving Connectivity and Mobility Access (ICMA) project, the Region was able to make journeys for disabled people easier.

AMORES: an Architecture for MObiquitous REsilient Systems. The AMORES project aims to provide an architecture for the provision of privacy preserving and resilient collaborative services in “mobiquitous" (i.e., mobile and ubiquitous) systems. This project is built around three use-cases from the area of public transportation: - dynamic carpooling - real-time computation of multimodal transportation itineraries - mobile social networking This project will focus on the provision of geo-located services such as geo-casting, geo-storage, geo-queries and, more generally, geo-computing.

MobiAnalyst and the Open Data movement: MobiAnalyst is an innovative software that is positioned as intelligent tool for analysis and decision support to meet the challenges of sustainable mobility of people. To take full advantage of its analytical capabilities, its users (transport authorities, design office, planning office, etc..) Need to access data, including those related to transportation (roads, transit lines, location of bus stops, etc..). Result of a R & D, the data import wizard allows to aggregate data from disparate sources, including from the Open Data.
